About Northwest Arkansas Chaplain Ministries |
Northwest Arkansas Chaplain Ministries was incorporated as a non-profit corporation in 2018 to provide funding for chaplain services for the Benton County Sheriff's Office and other area law enforcement agencies and fire departments. On call twenty-four hours a day, chaplains respond when their presence is needed and requested. Chaplains provide emotional and spiritual support to the community, providing "the ministry of presence" and compassionate care to victims in times of tragedy.
¨ The BCSO Chaplain Division provides spiritual and emotional support for over 280 law enforcement personnel and support staff. ¨ The Division also provides spiritual support for the jail population of up to 700 or more prisoners. ¨ Chaplains are ecumenical and minister to people of all faiths. ¨ BCSO chaplains are credentialed law enforcement or hospital chaplains, or both. Some of the chaplains are also certified fire service chaplains. ¨ Many of the chaplains are certified by International Critical Incident Stress Foundation to perform post-traumatic event services to the sheriff’s office and other public service agencies. ¨ Spiritual support for the jail population is provided by a team of dedicated jail ministers who bring their messages of faith and hope to those incarcerated. ¨ Differing faiths are represented by the jail ministers who volunteer in the Detention Center.
